Go Green: Eat More Salad!
August 2, 2010
It’s a well known fact a majority of people don’t like to admit – salad is good for you! The nutrients in salads, as well as enzymes, minerals, and vitamins, can help replenish the cells and organs in your body and make them happy, healthy, and strong! It can also help you lose weight, especially when eaten in conjunction with a healthy diet pill like Xenical Generic.
So simple and easy to make at home many people don’t get that it is one of the healthiest habits to get addicted to. Salads can be a creative event in the kitchen – learning to mix different fruits and vegetables to see what you come up with!
First off, eating a salad everyday does two major things – it can help you reach your weight loss goal AND lower cholesterol, reducing your chances of getting hypertension. Eating salad means losing weight – salads make you feel fuller, and you therefore eat less and shed those pounds. Try eating one before a big meal; you will notice that after the salad, you eat less, limiting the amount of calories you digest. Also, the amount of fiber in one bowl of salad can help to reduce cholesterol in the body and lower the likelihood of constipation.
Take a look around – a majority of the people around you (including yourself) probably do not get the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables per day in their diet. Having one salad can get your further to that goal.
The antioxidants in most vegetables, including vitamin C, vitamin E, folic acid, lycopene, alpha-carotene, and beta-carotene, can decrease future chances of developing illnesses, such as cancer. Most people eat foods that are too heavy, and can be associated with the development of certain illnesses. A salad a day, just like an apple, can keep the doctor away!
Vegetables are also heart-healthy, especially beans, peas, peppers, tomatoes, and carrots.
Go green and make a salad!
