How to Lose Weight Effectively
March 14, 2010
Many people suffer with trying to get rid of excess body weight. Being overweight not only affects your self confidence, it also poses an increased health risk of diabetes, cholesterol, and heart disease.
Losing weight is difficult; here are few ways to lose weight effectively.
- Regular exercise – This is the number one way to lose the weight and help keep it off. Regular exercise gives you many benefits in addition to losing weight, such as boosting your metabolism helping you burn calories faster. Furthermore, exercising releases a chemical that improves your mood and level of energy. Feeling happy, stronger and full of energy while increasing your muscle mass to burn more weight are all benefits from exercising. It is recommended that you exercise at least 20 minutes for as little as 3 times a week. Exercise alone does not help you lose weight; it must be accompanied with a well balanced diet.
- Eating right – Eating a nutritious diet is a great way to help you lose weight. A well balanced diet involves moderation in all the food groups. High fiber products such as oats, beans, fruits, vegetables especially apples and prunes, can significantly decrease LDL (bad) cholesterol levels. Omega 3 fatty acids products such as anchovies, soybeans, seeds, salmon, sardines and nuts are linked to many health benefits. Healthy fats such as monounsaturated fats that are found in extra virgin oil, canola oil, avocados, peanuts, and tree nuts, help lower LDL levels. In order to ensure adequate nutrition, it is recommended to take supplements and multivitamins. Although eating well can help you lose weight, keeping it off will depend on an exercise regimen
- Diet pills – Although there are many diet pills in the market that promise magic weight loss, there are some that are legitimate. If you are thinking about taking diet pills, it is important to consult with your doctor about selecting the right diet pills for you.
