<p>There are certain things you can look for in your takeout food. Keep an eye on the portion size. Stay away from all-you-can-eat <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffet" class="external">buffets</a>. These are not a good idea, because you will eat more in order to get your money&#039;s worth, and end up eating much more than you should. Never supersize your portion, and try and substitute a salad for the fries that probably come with the meal. If the portions are big, and you don’t have a choice but to order a whole one, ask the restaurant to pack half of the food for you at the end of the meal, and take it home. That way you get two meals for the price of one, and you won&#039;t end up overeating just because you paid for it.</p>
<p>Check the menu carefully when you order. Pay attention to how the food is cooked. Don&#039;t go for fried foods, or anything breaded or cooked in a creamy sauce. <p>Appetite suppressants like Phentermine contain an active stimulatory ingredient to give you more energy, such as caffeine and other products are non-active or regulatory and do not contain any stimulatory ingredients.  These will not affect anything other than your appetite and are used strictly for hunger regulation. Other appetite suppressants regulate hormones in the brain to prevent the brain from thinking it is hungry. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When trying hard to lose weight its hard to deny that there are some great diet pills out there that can help the process along.  Personally, I have been interested in Phentermine which is supposed to be used in the short-term and combined with exercise, diet, and behavioral modification.  </p>
<p>First a bit of history: Phentermine first received approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1959 as an appetite suppressant for the short-term treatment of obesity.  It became available in the United States in 1959 and then Phentermine Hydrochloride in the early 1970s.  It works by changing your brain levels of serotonin and causes a suppressed appetite, controlled hunger, and general feeling of stimulation. It also works outside the brain as well to release epinephrine or adrenaline causing fat cells to break down stored fat, but the principal basis of efficacy is hunger-reduction.  </p>
<p>Phentermine is great for a number of reasons.  It’s cheaper than the other major FDA-approved diet drugs and it has documented success stories unlike many diet pills.  When used short term, it helps to jump start weight loss into a healthier plan of diet and exercise, and you can slso buy it generic which is cheaper than name brand.  The active ingredient in Phentermine is Phentermine Hydrochloride (HCL), along with a host of non-active ingredients and you need to take one capsule approximately 2 hours after breakfast for appetite control.  It’s recommended that you incorporate diet and exercise into your weight loss plan when taking Phentermine.  </p>
<p>Xenical is another great diet pill.  It acts by blocking some of the fat that you eat from being absorbed by your body and when used together with a reduced-calorie diet, it is an effective tool for weight maintenance and treating people with risk factors such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol or triglycerides.  It is also indicated to reduce the risk for weight regain after previous weight loss.</p>

It acts to stimulate the hypothalamus gland and affects certain neurotransmitters, and also works outside the brain to release epinephrine or adrenaline which causes fat cells to break down.</p>
<p>Other medications, such as Xenical, work on the digestive system to actually block fat in the food you eat from being digested by the digestive enzyme called lipase.  When taken with meals, Xenical attaches to lipase and blocks it from breaking down some of the fat you have eaten; and then the undigested fat is then eliminated in your stools.</p>
<p>Meridia/Reductil or sibutramine works by increasing the activity of norepinephrine and serotonin, in the brain which helps regulate the sense of fullness or your signal to stop eating, making you satisfied with less food.  The active ingredient, sibutramine, works by acting on the appetite control center in the brain where the satiety signal is activated.</p>
<p>Combining these powerful weight-loss drugs with a low-calorie diet and regular exercise can help you lose more weight than can either drugs or lifestyle changes alone.  And get this: combining all three can help you lose anywhere from 5 percent to 10 percent of your total body weight within a year.   This may not seem like many pounds lost, but even modest weight loss has a significant benefit to your health. Losing just a small percentage of your weight can decrease blood pressure, triglyceride levels, blood glucose levels and insulin levels.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A new study on Orlistat users has found that many people using the medication may not keep up the diet changes that are necessary for the treatment&#039;s success.  Orlistat, which is also sold as Xenical, aids in weight loss by blocking the absorption of dietary fat in the intestines. People who take it are advised to limit their fat intake to no more than 30 percent of their daily calories as higher fat intake increases the risk of GI side effects like oily and loose stools and fecal incontinence.  Not so pleasant.  Some have argued that it is precisely because of these unpleasant side effects that Orlistat aids in weight loss, as those side effects encourage people to stick with a low-fat diet for the long haul.  But the new study on 44 obese adults, found that orlistat users had a slightly higher average fat intake than non-users over two months which surpassed the recommended 30 %.  On average, they found, orlistat users were getting 33 percent of their daily calories from fat, versus 28 percent among non-users.</p>
<p>The study, though small, brings up an important point about weight loss.  Despite the fact that there are several great medications on the market which can support efforts to lose weight, especially needed for obese people, addressing the underlying issues such as emotions, hormonal problems and lifestyle are absolutely critical to success.  Remember, drugs like orlistat are a great start but over the long term, it does affect your body’s ability to absorb vitamins, etc.  And as we know now, not all fats are bad—in fact, we need fats like Omega 3 and conjugated linolenic acid for health and disease prevention.  What we should learn from this small study is that these medications are here to help you but it’s up to you to get down to the bottom line of the excess weight, whatever the cause may be, and stick with a healthier diet.  Its part of what is needed for the success of the medication, too.</p>
